Privacy Policy

Emberdeck is a free browser game at emberdeck.app. This page explains what data the game and website handle and why.

Playing without an account

You can play without signing in. Your runs, settings and progress are stored only in your browser's local storage on your device. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes them.

Signing in with Google

Signing in is optional. It lets you keep your progress in the cloud and continue on another device. When you sign in with Google, we receive and store:

• your Google account ID (a number that identifies your account to us),
• your email address, name and profile picture URL, as shared by Google,
• the time you first signed in and last used the site.

We never see your Google password. We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or any other Google data.

After you sign in we set one cookie, ed_session. It is a signed session cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It is used only for this purpose.

Cloud saves

While you are signed in, your game save files (runs, unlocks, settings and journal) are copied to our database so you can load them on other devices. Saves are stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure (Cloudflare D1) and are linked to your Google account ID.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which pages they read, and whether the game loads correctly, for example "game loaded" or "run started". Google Analytics sets cookies, such as _ga, and processes your IP address and browser details under Google's privacy policy. IP anonymization is requested. You can opt out with your browser's tracking protection, an ad/tracker blocker, or Google's opt-out add-on. The game works the same either way.

Hosting and logs

The site is served by Cloudflare. To deliver and protect the service, Cloudflare processes standard request data such as IP address and user agent. Short-lived error logs may include request paths. They never include your save contents.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your data.
• We don't show personalized ads.
• We don't use your data to train AI models.

Deleting your data

Sign out at any time from the account menu on the play page. To delete your account and cloud saves, email support@emberdeck.app from the Google account you signed in with. We delete the account record and all saves within 30 days. You can also remove Emberdeck's access at myaccount.google.com/connections.

Children

Emberdeck is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Signing in requires a Google account, which is subject to Google's age requirements.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Material changes will also be noted on the home page.
